Rev. Dr. Johnson Charles
Dr. Johnson Charles is a missionary from St Andrew’s Church, Lahore, Pakistan. That is his home church where at the age of 17, he found Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and trained for ministry.
Before coming to Calgary, he served with Scripture Union Pakistan for 21 years (the last 13 years of his tenure as the National Director), working with children, young people, teachers, and families.
Since June 1997, Pastor Charles served with a couple of international churches of Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada and is now is associated with Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Canada in the Western District leadership and current director of Encompass Partnerships. He is involved in ministry with Calgary Punjabi Christian Church as the Chairperson and Worship & Outreach pastor.
He is serving also as the chairman for Scripture Union Canada.
After prior education in theology from, Pakistan, he studied in Singapore and Nairobi, Kenya. He received his Master’s degree from Columbia Biblical Seminary, Columbia, South Carolina, USA. and earned his Doctorate in Biblical Preaching from Master’s International School of Divinity, Evansville, Indiana, USA.
He has a burden for marriage and family life, as he believes that strong homes build stronger churches and communities.
He authored a book called “Ehad – e – Muhabat” (Covenant of Love) on marriage and family life plus other books on discipleship and Christian maturity in the Urdu language.
He launched the first audio cassette, ”Dukh Sukh Ka Rasta” with songs in sequence from folk dance at pre-marriage reception to the wedding anniversary.
Johnson is married to Daisy and has 4 children and one granddaughter!
